Deciding to enter into therapy can be difficult, and anxiety-provoking.  Attempting to choose an appropriate therapist can make the task even more difficult. I hope  providing some background information about my approach and experience  can help you decide if I may be an appropriate therapist for you. As a psychotherapist with over 30 years of experience, I am familiar with  and comfortable in dealing with a broad range of issues.  Some of these issues include:

Each person is unique.  I do not believe in treating the “diagnosis” but rather helping the person.  For example, anxiety in one person may appear as ‘jitteriness’ while in another person it may appear as anger or being quick-tempered. Yet another person may be quiet and even dissociated.  I believe it is crucial to understand the person and to help them gain a deeper understanding of themselves. Please see my other pages for more information about my approach to psychotherapy and my experience.
